As our client continues to expand their operations, they are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to join their team and lead their C&I solar development projects.
Job Description:
Position Overview:
As a Project Manager for our client's C&I Solar Development team, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and successful delivery of solar projects across California. You will be responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle, from initial concept and design through construction and commissioning, ensuring the projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning:
- Collaborate with our client's business development team to understand client requirements and project objectives.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, considering all regulatory and environmental factors.
- Ensure alignment with our client's goals and renewable energy industry standards.
Stakeholder Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with our client's clients, contractors, suppliers, and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and issues effectively to all stakeholders.
- Lead project meetings and ensure that all parties are well-informed.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective project delivery.
- Allocate and manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor and control project expenditures to meet financial objectives.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and environmental considerations that may affect project outcomes.
- Implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all involved.
Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the design, engineering, and construction phases to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure the delivery of a high-quality solar system.
Project Documentation:
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, and project files.
- Provide regular updates and reports to our client's leadership and clients.
Project Commissioning:
- Manage the commissioning process, ensuring that the solar systems operate efficiently and meet performance expectations.
- Hand over completed projects to our client's clients and support them during the post-commissioning phase.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
- Proven experience in project management, with a focus on renewable energy projects, specifically solar.
- Familiarity with California's regulatory environment and permitting processes for solar installations.
- Strong understanding of C&I solar technologies, solar arrays, and electrical systems.
- Project management certifications (PMP or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel as required for project site visits.
